Product Description
DIAGNOTECH MONKEYPOX VIRUS NUCLEIC ACID DETECTION KIT is a diagnostic tool designed for the qualitative detection of Monkeypox DNA in oropharyngeal swab samples, vesicular or pustular lesion fluid, and diseased tissue samples.
Intended Use
This test is an in vitro nucleic acid amplification assay for the qualitative detection of Monkeypox virus (MPXV) DNA in oropharyngeal swab samples, vesicular or pustular lesion fluid, and diseased tissue samples using BioRad CFX96, Gentier 96E Real-Time PCR System and QuantStudio™ 5 Real-Time PCR Systems for amplification, detection and analysis. Validated extraction systems and kits are, RTA DNA Extraction Kit, ZiXpress® DNA Extraction Kit, Tianlong Generotex96 automatic nucleic acid extraction systems and with nucleic acid extraction kit, Phoenix-Pure 32/ Phoenix-Pure 96 MG4001/Auto-Pure Mini MG4002 automatic nucleic acid extraction systems with SphaeraMagTM DNA/RNA Isolation Kit. The detection of Monkeypox DNA is based on qPCR providing a simple, reliable and rapid result for the detection of MPVX infection.
Real-Time PCR
Based Detection MONKEYPOX VIRUS NUCLEIC ACID DETECTION KIT is a real- time PCR assay that uses sequence-specific primers and fluorescently labeled probes. When the PCR primer is extended, the internal oligonucleotide or probe hybridizes to the template and is digested by the Taq DNA polymerase’s 5′-3′ exonuclease activity. Monitoring the fluorescence intensities during the PCR run (i.e., in real-time) allows for the detection and quantification of the accumulating product.
Intended Use
Monkeypox Ag Rapid Test Cassette (Swab) is a solid phase immunochromatographic assay for the rapid, qualitative and differential detection of monkeypox virus antigen in human throat or vesicle /acne scab focus swab specimen. This test provides only a preliminary test result. Therefore, any reactive specimen with the Monkeypox Ag Rapid Test Cassette (Swab) must be confirmed with alternative testing method(s) and clinical findings.
How Does it Work
The Monkeypox Virus Antigen Rapid test offers a non-invasive, lateral flow assay that is both rapid and precise, making it easy to perform. This test leverages specific antibodies designed to target the Monkeypox virus antigen, which are immobilized on a reactive membrane. When the Monkeypox virus is present in the swab samples, including skin lesion exudate, acne scab swabs, or nasopharyngeal swabs, the specific antigen is captured by a secondary antibody conjugated with colloidal gold particles. This conjugate is then detected by a generic antibody, which is affixed to the reactive membrane in the form of a test line. The presence of this test line confirms the correct performance of the assay, providing a visual indication of the presence of the Monkeypox virus antigen in the sample. This non-invasive method provides a quick and convenient way to screen for the presence of the Monkeypox virus, with results typically available within minutes. It is an important tool for early detection and can aid in promptly implementing appropriate treatment and own containment
